Holmes County, OH - There’s something new this fall in Ohio’s Amish Country, and your taste buds won’t want to miss it. Celebrate the flavors of fall on the first-ever Best of Ohio’s Amish Country Apple Tour, sponsored by several of the area’s most notable attractions.
Unlike bus tours, the apple tour is a relaxed, “drive-yourself” scenic tour of Amish Country with stops at seven shops around the region. At each stop, attendees will receive a special discount in the store and an apple-themed treat, including donuts, fudge, caramel apples and other goodies.
“Many consider fall to be the best time to visit Amish Country, and we couldn’t agree more,” said Glenda Lehman Ervin, VP of Marketing for Lehman’s. “The harvest is coming in, the air is crisp and the leaves are spectacular. We want to give visitors one more good reason to spend time here. … At Lehman’s, we will be making apple cider on our own press and your ticket gets you a cider donut.”
Proceeds from the tour will benefit 58:12 Rescue, a local organization that provides rescue, shelter, and restoration to female victims of physical and sexual abuse.
“58:12 Rescue is a fantastic local organization providing shelter to victims of domestic violence. Think of the apple tour as a fundraiser in very good taste,” Lehman said.
The tour begins at the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market, where ticket holders will register and receive a map, free tote bag for treats and an apple fry pie (an Amish Country specialty). From there, visitors are free to visit the other six stops as they wish throughout the day. Coblentz Chocolate Company, the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center, Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Amish Door Village, Homestead Furniture and Lehman’s will give visitors a real taste of the best Amish Country has to offer. And, with special discounts at each stop, it’s a great time to think ahead and do a little Christmas shopping.
Come enjoy the beauty of Amish Country and savor the crisp, sweet flavors of fall – before they’re gone! Tickets are $25 each and are available at https://bit.ly/2JlHTUi. Tickets are limited; please reserve your ticket by Friday, October 18, 2019.
