Or if you’d like to add a little culture to your Amish country visit, you can get an in-depth look into Amish life at Behalt Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. You can also view the 265 foot long cyclorama, which is only one of four in North America. Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market is reopening for the season on March 2nd and will be open every week Thursday-Saturday from 9am-5pm. With over 100 vendors, you can find everything from handmade curtains to jewelry, you can find anything and everything under one roof. Wear comfy shoes and plan to spend the day - you can even have lunch at the cafe!
Celebrate Pi Day and grab some fresh pie at Lehman’s on March 14! After the pie baking class, explore the store for pie tastings, different methods of making pies and register for a pie baking basket giveaway! On March 21st, a representative from the Wilderness Center will be on hand at Lehman’s to teach kids how to carve, but with soap and popsicles sticks - no knives so no worries, parents! The Wilderness Center is a great local stop for some outdoor time with trail hikes and a great play space for kids! If you haven’t seen the wood carvings by Paul Weaver on display at Lehman’s, that alone is worth the trip. Paul will be at Lehman’s Saturday March 25th and April 22nd from 9:30am- 2:00pm to answer questions and discuss his work. Also on March 25th at Lehman’s is Mr. Bill’s Woodfired Pizza class at 10am and a sourdough break baking class at 2pm. With so much to do and see in Ohio’s Amish Country, your family’s spring break will be one to remember!
